Fausto Valdiviezo Case takes a sudden turn of events
Last Monday noon, Ingrid Soraya Leon Bermudez, who is involved as an alleged mastermind in the murder of journalist Fausto Valdiviezo, voluntarily surrendered to the police.
However, four hours earlier, her niece, Allyson Brigit Leon Yagual posed as Ingrid and turned herself in the Rocafuerte Square, the center of Guayaquil, after giving numerous press statements that his family had called. The scheme was justified by arguing that the family wanted to see if they had the necessary guarantees for the involved to give her version to the media.
While Ingrid Soraya Leon Bermudez was detained for investigations, her niece Allyson Brigit Leon Yagual is awaiting a linkage hearing that could lead to prison for identity theft and obstructing investigations.
When Allyson was arrested, at 07h55, the lawyer Carlos Rubio said: “Ingrid is no money loaner, and does not maintain any relationship with the late Fausto Valdiviezo” he subsequently allowed the alleged implied to speak. However, in that same moment the woman was arrested and taken to the Judicial Police.
