Prosecutor investigates the use of policy in the case of Pedro Delgado

Pedro Delgado continues to dodge the Ecuadorian justice

Following the submission of a request for protect action by Juan Carlos Carmigniani for his client, Pedro Delgado Campana, former president of the Central Bank of Ecuador and cousin of the Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa, in the case of false ideology, the National Court of Justice (CNJ) referred the case to the Constitutional Court for its information and next resolution.

At the protection request placed by Carmigniani, the Prosecutor opened a preliminary investigation of the case. Since Delgado defense hopes that this appeal would deny the remand order that weighs against a former official.

For the Attorney General, Galo Chiriboga, in this case there is a remand order. According to the prosecutor it could be used to seek the extradition of Delgado, who is currently in Miami (USA), carrying out a procedure to regularize his immigration status to legally remain in the United States.
