Fines, a concern for the media

The second Roundtable on Communication is scheduled for Thursday, July 13, in Tena (Napo). It will take place within the framework of the initiative promoted by President Lenin Moreno to achieve a national consensus.

The dialogue agenda revolves around three issues of the Communication Law (LOC): Guarantees and Communication Rights; Regulation and control (sanctions regime) and national advertising and production. That is the proposal for the dialogue panels organized by the National Secretariat of Communication (Secom).

One concern is the economic sanctions affecting the regional media. As in the case of non-compliance with 5% of the Intercultural content. Therefore, one of the proposals is to review the quota, release the contents and target them to local readers and the gradualness of the sanctions or compensations. (I)
