Fire in poultry in China takes 119 lives
A fire occurred yesterday in a poultry slaughterhouse located in Jilin Province, in northern China, left a toll of 119 dead and dozens injured. So far continuing disaster rescue, this, more serious in recent years.
Local authorities explained that when the fire began, more than 300 workers were inside the facility. Only 100 escaped, although the main exit door was locked.
The fire occurred early in the morning in a poultry slaughterhouse, owned by the firm Baoyuanfeng Jilin, Changchun province.
The first investigations, according to the authorities, reveal that the fire could have been due to a release of ammonia or an electrical fault.
This incident is considered the deadliest since the 2000 killed 309 people in a ballroom in Henan (central China).
