First Ecuadorian at the YouTube Symphony 2011
In March, for the very first time the international YouTube Symphony Orchestra 2011 will have an ecuadorian musician playing in its orchestra, his name is Alex Jimbo Viteri. Viteri has been a musician since he was three years old, his first public appear was at four and at six he presented as soloist to the Orchestra of Guayaquil and won several competitions.
Currently Alex Jimbo is 24, he joined the UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra (Switzerland) and opted to play in the YouTube Symphony auditioning among thousands of people in order to be part of it.
Throughout the fall of 2010, artists from around the world uploaded to YouTube their auditions. In December there were elected 300 of them and after the votes of users it was decided the 101 artists to go to Sydney.
For the winners the trip to Australia will be paid, they will stay from March 14 until 20, and they will give several concerts in this dates. On March 20 a concert conducted by Michael Tilson Thomasand will be broadcast via streaming.
