Four death by yesterday´s torrential rain in Guayaquil

Two adults electrocuted in the Nueva Prosperina Sector and two children drowned in block 1 of El Fortín, were the victims of the surprising lightning storm that fell yesterday in Guayaquil, said last night the Governor of Guayas, Rolando Panchana.The Venegas Matamoros family was dragged away by the floodwaters of a stream. The mother and her children, a year and a half old girl and a six months old baby, were dragged by the water flow. The progenitor could be rescued, but her children died.
On the other hand, the Under-Secretary of Education of Guayaquil reported that school activities in the educatinal districts 7 (Las Orquídeas) and 8 (Monte Sinai) have been suspended.
The strong torrential, which started approximately at 17:50, made four heavy traffic roads shut down, blackouts in different parts of the city, flooded neighborhoods and the airport closing for an hour.
Even the intensity of the storm made the Governance to activate, at 18:32, the ECU-911 and the National Secretariat for Risk alerts.
