Jaime Nebot, Guayaquil mayor, announced yesterday that the passengers won’t have to pay to use the new Metrovia Troncal 2 on the day of its inauguration on February 16.

With a cost of $24 million, the Troncal 2 construction took 20 months and adds 90 buses to the Guayaquilean transportation.

Nebot also indicated, in a radio interview, that they installed sensors and electronic equipment in 44 buses of the Troncal 2, which corresponds to the first stage.
During the first week of March, the troncal will be extended by 25%, as announced by the mayor.
The Metrovia Troncal 2 comes from the terminal in av. 25 de Julio to the Río Daule station. Two ways will be used, a regular which will stop in each of the 30 stations and a speed one which will only stop in 5 strategic places.
