G8 Leaders Work United to Solve World Issues
The ‘Group of Eight leaders’ agreed in their initial discussion at Camp David that Iran needs to inform about its nuclear ambitions. Afterward they talked about focusing on a political transition in Syria.
The leaders included the newly elected French President Francois Hollande and the Russian Prime Dmitry Medvedev who stated that North Korea needs to adhere to international norms on nuclear issues, or face more isolation if it “continues down the path of provocation.”
United States president Barack Obama used this opportunity to discuss global security concerns with the G8 leaders. They will talk about the euro zone crisis and other economy related issues including the oil market pressures. The G8 Camp David will end on Saturday afternoon; afterwards Obama and several other leaders will attend a NATO summit on Chicago. (AV)
