Italian Justice Calls to Judgment Upon Five Involved in the “Narcovalija” Case
The Foreign Ministry of Ecuador reported that the Italian justice called trial to four Ecuadorians and an American accused in the case of the diplomatic suitcase with drugs, for next June 11 at Milan.
Italian Judge Anna Laura Marchiondelli, the Court of Milan, found evidence of criminal liability against compatriots: Jorge Luis Redroban Quevedo, Luis Carlos Hurtado Baidal, Cristian Loor Loor, Tulio Jesus Pazo Toro and the American Jean Paul Flores.
On February 9, the Italian police discovered 40 kilos of liquid cocaine in the Ecuadorian diplomatic pouch, official correspondence that was sent on January 11 this year from Quito to Milan.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the Italian courts have determined that 13.57 kilos of drugs were those found in the trunk and not 40 kilos as reported initially. (ARL)
