Gaddafi Bank Accounts are Frozen
This Tuesday, Austria and Germany froze the bank accounts of the Libyan leader Muammar al Gaddafi and his family. These sanctions were made with the approval of the European Union and the United Nations. These measures also include the freezing of the funds of high officials, and the seizing of weapons due to the deaths of the demonstrators.
Several financial institutions from Austria have Libyan deposits of $1,700 million, however it is still unknown if they belong to the Gaddafi family, the National Bank of Austria informed. Meanwhile the German government froze a bank account with the name of one the sons of Muammar, the account had $2,8 million. The measure was taken to avoid the use of these resources against the people of Libya.
