Gaddafi Forces Corner the Rebels in Zauiya
The attacks from the Libyan army to the rebels in the city of Zauiya have forced the closure of an oil complex. The Zauiya refinery is the main supplier of gasoline for the vehicles of Libya, meanwhile the tanks of Gaddafi are getting closer to the main square of the city and snipers of the regime are killing the rebels from rooftops. The artillery attacks into buildings occupied by rebels are piled with corpses according to Reuters and witnesses.
Yesterday, Muammar al Gaddafi, while isolated in Tripoli proposed to the rebels that he would leave the country if they allow him to escape with his money. Although the reply from the opposition was negative, it managed to divide the national council, the president of the council, Mustafa Abdelyalil offered Gaddafi 72 hours to leave his charge.
Al Gaddafi knows time is not on his side; Gaddafi continues to instill fear into the people of Libya by killing them with the army. The country does not have Internet connection for seven days. Meanwhile the NATO watches the skies with the Awacs, to gather information about the military movements of the Libyan army, while France and the United Kingdom promote the need to the United Nations to establish an air exclusion zone.
