Gaddafi Launches Offensive with Death Threats
The loyal forces of the Libyan dictator Muammar al Gaddafi launched today an offensive in the area of the insurrection against the regimen. Militaries and mercenaries under orders of Coronel Gaddafi began an assault in the city Marsa el Brega that is an important oil settlement located 800 km east of Tripoli. According to a report of Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya, the rebels are entrenched in that city and have managed to repel the attacks. The situation is confusing and the hostilities continue.
Several witnesses informed that the bombings from Gaddafi forces are indiscriminately killing the population of Brega. Meanwhile the citizens of Ajdabiyah, at 80 km of Brega, fear that Gaddafi turns to them as their next target of his offensive. The rebel leaders called for a foreign military intervention, United States and his European partners debate this subject. In the city of Bengasi, the leaders of the insurrection have formed a Revolutionary Council that governs the city while preparing a formal petition for this Wednesday.
The United Kingdom along with the United States set their priority to stop Gaddafi from using its planes, since it is a weapon that the rebels cannot fend off and it could end the rebellion. President Barack Obama reinstated that the North American administration is studying to declare the country as an air exclusion zone. Meanwhile the Libyan tyrant, Muammar al Gaddafi, warned in a speech that if the United States and other countries of NATO enter in Libya there will be thousands of death. Gaddafi requested to the UN an investigation commission to look into the events of the insurrection.
