Galo Arellano: I have an infinite passion for my industry, it’s an adventure
Ecuadornews:

Undoubtedly, 2018 was a year of blessings for the Ecuadorian journalist Galo Arellano, who recently announced his nomination in the News & Documentary Emmy Awards. For the second consecutive year the Quito integrated the list of this coveted prize received by communicators, and although he did not win, he says he is happier than ever, because the mere fact of having been considered for the award has already put him “on the map”. Arellano, who is a presenter of Univisión, told this newspaper that in the third week of this month he will return with his Ecuadorians program in the world to the Ecuavisa International signal.
What do these nominations mean for Galo?
Crazy, never in my life I did not even imagine that something like this would happen twice. I have twice lost the award, I have not managed to have an Emmy with my name recorded yet, but twice I have been nominated with colleagues who were and are a reference for Latin American journalism. I immigrated to the United States only 18 years ago, without knowing anyone and when you get acknowledgments like this you get to think that luck is crazy and whoever proposes it touches him.
For which program were you nominated?
The Emmys have many categories but all recognize the best jobs in the industry. In the area of News and Documentaries, they reward excellence individually or in groups. In Edition 39 in the category best news or News Magazine in Spanish, the National Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences nominated NoticieroUnivisión and within that category a group of talented colleagues and me.
When did you hear about the nomination?
The event was held in October 2018, I did not win the Emmy, obviously I knew that the Univision Noticiero was nominated in several categories, but sometimes it takes time to get the certificate of the nomination to the hand of the selected ones and just yesterday I they delivered and then when I had it in my hands, I made sure it was real, I touched it, I contemplated it, I checked it again, it was not going to be a printed one of the internet and when I realized that it was really my second nomination I decided to publish it on my networks.
In what area of Univision do you collaborate?
Most of the time I’m in the Night Edition and Weekend, I have a schedule that I call a joke-kill passions-because I always go against the normal people’s schedule. While some sleep I work, while the rest work I rest, but I love what I do and I have an infinite passion for my industry, that’s why every day is an adventure.
“Sharing experiences with them has been a blessing because you learn every day, my boss is Daniel Coronell, one of the most influential Colombian journalists in Latin America and what to say about Jorge Ramos, one of the most influential Latinos according to Time magazine. Without a doubt a privilege that I have to take advantage of “. Galo Arellano, journalist. (I)
