Government and manufacturers discussed kitchens contest

Officials from the Ministry of Industry and Productivity (Mipro) and the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy met with kitchen manufacturers and suppliers of parts and pieces of these appliances to clarify the tender terms which will turn them into suppliers of the State. The conditions to participate in the tender, which is open until May 9, are provided on the Mipro website, according to an official statement.Alexis Valencia, Undersecretary of Industrial Development, answered questions and explained the technical parameters on national components, functionality, efficiency, quality and warranty requested for the new kitchens.
The Government explained that a subheading has been created, with specific tariffs to import the parts needed to build the induction cookplates (for the import of CKD or Assembly kit) in the country.
The Government also set a warranty period of three years to the new appliances. Likewise, it was stated that the final prototype will be available in quality laboratories on June 2.
The Executive recalled that if a foreign company is interested in participating in the tender, this must stablish in Ecuador, so that the assembling could be carried out with national laborforce.
