Petroecuador dismissed 300 employees last Friday and will continue cutting its staff as part of a plan of adjustments to deal with the effects of low oil prices, reported yesterday the manager of the company, Carlos Pareja Yannuzzelli.
On the deadline for the completion of the staff cuts, he said there is no a specified time. “We have no specified time, we have to go on and on (…) and we have to do according to the behavior of the (oil) prices,” said Pareja.
He added that this is a global issue and cited that oil companies in the US have cut 300,000 people.
