Green technology at Geneva’s Motor Show
The most recognized brands in the automotive market will present 170 new models in the 81st edition of the Motor Show in Geneva (Switzerland). Eco-friendly cars will have have a especial protagonism since 40 of the new models were designed with green technology.
The fuel price hike has a lot to do with the supply of “green” cars. Brands like Ford, BMW, and Volkswagen presented models with low pollution emissions technologies.
BMW introduced its electric luxury sedan, Phantom, under its brand Rolls Royce. BMW will also introduce the ActiveE, another electric car, the brand also announced with PSA Peugeot that both would invest $ 138 million in a company that will produce parts for hybrids since 2014.
Volkswagen will unveil a series of conceptual cars in order to take Toyota’s place as the world’s largest manufacturer of eco-friendly cars. The German manufacturer also introduced a hybrid under the brand Porsche, the Panamera S, capable of traveling 14.7 miles per gallon of fuel.
Nissan proposes a three-cylinder engine and 1.2 liters for Micar DIG-S, the Japanese brand ensures that it will the same power as a model with four-cylinder and 1.5 liter.
The Motor Show will end on March 13th.
