Guayaquil Mayor spoke of his expectations about the national strike

The Mayor of Guayaquil, Jaime Nebot, acknowledged that it is expected more than his solidarity with the national strike of August 13.
Nebot insisted that there is already an auto-strike in the country, as the economy has “tremendously” slowed. He declined to describe this method of protest, but stated it has a reason to be. “We´re not talking about a country that is virtually paralyzed, because when trust is lost, the engine of development is turned off,” he said.
