Puerto Rican former boxer Hector “Macho” Camacho, died today at age 50 after spending long hours with a brain death diagnosis, as a result of receiving a shot last Tuesday in the Caribbean island.
Ernesto Torres, director of the San Juan Medical Center, confirmed the death of former triple champion. He beat two big shots: ‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard and Roberto ‘Hands of Stone’ Duran, from the U.S. and Panama, respectively.
The boxer was shot together with another man who was accompanying him that died instantly after being wounded. The incident took place in an establishment in Bayamon and the identity of the shooter is still unknown.
