Henry Fariñas convicted for drug trafficking

Nicaragua‘s judicial system today declared the entrepreneur Henry Fariñas, guilty of drug trafficking. Fariñas was the target and survivor of the attack that killed the Argentine singer Facundo Cabral.

Judge Adela Cardoza, convicted Fariñas for drug trafficking, money laundering and organized crime association.

Fariñas faces a possible sentence of 20 years in prison for drug trafficking, 7 years for money laundering, and from 7 to 14 years for organized crime association.

The sentence will take place in a hearing on October 12. (MZ)
