Heroes Law does not stipulate accreditations
The Verification Commission for Heroes and heroines of the Council of Citizen Participation and Social Control (CPC) still lacks a mechanism to initiate this process, despite the fact that the regulations for the accreditation of heroes and heroines is published in the official registry since June 14.
While the regulation was already published, the Commission has focused part of its work on what will be the advertising campaign, for this reason, the President of the Commission Francisco Rivadeneira, said Tuesday that there are seven campaign proposals.
Yesterday, the adviser David Rosero said that one of the proposals to start this accreditation, is that the Ministry of Defense deliver the certificates to the people registered in the Act of recognition of fighters of the conflict of 1995.
Moreover, those who are registered as combatants from that conflict, will receive other awards as scholarships, additional scores in contest of merits, free access to health institutions of the armed forces, preferential treatment for earning credits in financial institutions, among others.
Rosero, explained that both, in addition to those benefits, will receive the pension of two monthly basic salaries.
The Ministry of Defense will have 30 days after the Commission notified them with the request, in order to obtain the list of those potential beneficiaries, indicating the names, surnames and identity card numbers, and in addition shall have five days to organize the registration process.
