The Swedish Ola Bini will remain in custody after the judge of Criminal Guarantees, Yadira Proaño, rejected the request for bail requested by his lawyer.
At the hearing held in the Judicial Complex north of Quito, Judge Proaño considered “that there are no guarantees necessary to ensure the presence of the Swedish citizen in the criminal process”, so “he denied the request for bail,” points out the prosecutor’s office
In addition, the judge considered that the documentation presented by the defense of the citizen is insufficient to demonstrate the economic activities that the defendant was doing in the country.
The prosecution says it opposed the request for bail requested by Bini, because the Swedish citizen has “been reluctant to cooperate in the various proceedings, hiding the information contained in the devices found in his possession and in the search conducted at home” .
Ola Bini is prosecuted for his alleged involvement in the crime of attack on the integrity of computer systems. (I)
