Hosni Mubarak Suffered a Stroke
This Tuesday the former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was admitted to a hospital, according to the comments of a spokesman for the Egyptian military. Egyptian state television reported Mubarak suffered a heart attack while being interrogated over possible corruption charges.
CNN contacted the prosecutor’s office, however they denied any reports of Mubarak being questioned by authorities Tuesday. The state media informed that the former Egyptian leader was admitted in the Sharm el-Sheikh International Hospital. In 2004, Mubarak had a back surgery in Germany, in 2010 he returned to have his gall bladder removed. In the recent years, the Egyptian leader withdrawn from public view, until the uprising which forced him to make televised speeches.
In February 11 Hosni Mubarak stepped down and gave his position and power to the military. After three decades of iron rule, his regime ended by a serious popular protests that started in January 25.
