Hugo Chavez appeared bald due to the chemotherapy

Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez appeared in public with a shaved head as a result of his first session of the chemotherapy he is receiving.

The president said that last night he felt that he loosed a “piece” of hair and decided to cut it. “I had to call the barber and say, look, my hair is falling,” added Chavez.

Chavez denied the rumors about his cancer; he has not given any details about his alleged poor condition, and insisted that at this time no malignant cells were detected.

“I have nothing of it (cancer cells), I will not say that I do not have cancer, but I am in the process of recovery,” he said. “Fortunately, they seem to act in time,” he said. (BG)
