Posted On 03 Feb 2011
A study of the Lübeck German University, led by Professor Jan Brn, confirmed that humans learn as they sleep.
The study, involved 191 volunteers, during sleep the human brain stores in the hippocampus the information, allowing to remember the knowledge acquired during the day in a long term.
Participants had to memorize 40 pairs of words and in another experiment, they had to hold the position of objects, animals, and certain tables.
At the end all were subjected to a test and, as expected, those who had sleep had better results, reported the University of Lübeck. Moreover, the results of those whoslept and were told they would be subjected to a test were better than those who had slept but did not know that they would do a test.
