In nine months, 40% of the ministerial cabinet changed

On the day of his possession, Moreno signed Executive Decree No. 8 with which he appointed 36 ministers and secretaries of state. Of these, 15 no longer hold the positions for which they were appointed.

Special case is that of   María Alejandra Vicuña   who had a ‘promotion’. Started as Minister of Housing and now holds the Vice Presidency of the Republic, after the departure of  Jorge Glas, detained in jail 4 with a sentence of six years for his participation in the corruption plot of the construction company Odebrecht.

They were also ‘recycled’ Miguel Carvajal, who went from Defense to Politics; Andrés Mideros , who changed the Secretariat of Planning for the General of the Presidency, and Jorge Wated , who started in the   Company of Public Companies Coordinator and now he directs the Works Contracting Service ( Secob ) .

The others passed without much pain or glory for the cabinet and now they are no longer part of the Government. The record for his brief passage in the team of Moreno is held by the correísta Ricardo Patiño, although he was not held on May 24 but on July 4 as ‘presidential adviser’. He was only one month and 24 days in office. He separated when the discrepancies began within Alianza PAIS.
