Inhabitants of Mount Sinai suffer evictions

Large areas of Mount Sinai are being destroyed and people are suffering evictions.

Such is the case of Nadia Chila, who amidst the chaos managed to rescue her belongings, but says she can only place a tent in the property that she believes is still hers, because she has nowhere to go.

Manuel Penafiel, humble mason and inhabitant of the sector, said: “I have to go to to the Trinitaria Island, where my mom lives” and lamented the sad Mother’s Day he was going to have along with his family, as well as other women in the industry, women with six or more children, who feel now abandoned by President Rafael Correa, who according to them, promised support during the campaigns. “You have a house and we do not,” sobbed Alexandra Burbano, who hoped desperately that her house is not in the list of evictions.
