International security team will investigate the hidden camera found in the presidential office

Posted On 19 Sep 2017

Ecuadornews:

The Presidency, in parallel with the preliminary investigation initiated by the Prosecutor’s Office last Friday, will hire an international security team to investigate the finding of a hidden camera in the office of President Lenin Moreno.

The President announced it during his weekly address, where he detailed the circumstances of the discovery of the electronic device. “It was evident that it was working,” he said and regretted that he had been informed on Friday, right before his trip to Guayaquil.

He also criticized the previous Presidential Protection Service for not communicating the existence of that camera to the current service. “It’s a national shame,” he said, noting that the investigation is currently in the hands of-of the Prosecutor´s office. “However, the Presidency will contract the investigation of an international security team,” he said.
