Isabel Pantoja sentenced to two years in prison
Posted On 17 Apr 2013
Spanish singer Isabel Pantoja was convicted to two years in prison and fined for 1,15 millions of Euros, for laundered the illicit money of her former lover, Julian Munoz, when this was mayor of Marbella between May 2002 and August 2003.
It is probable that Pantoja, 56, avoids prison, as the Spanish justice permits, in sentences which not exceed more than two years and if the defendant has no criminal record, as is the case.
The popular singer was sentenced along with his former lover, Julián Muñoz, convicted to seven years in prison and fined for 3.8 million Euros, and with Muñoz’s ex-wife, Maite Zaldivar, also accused of money laundering, who was sentenced to more than three years in prison and a fine of 2.4 million Euros.
