Israel demands an explanation from the U.S. for the reports on NSA espionage

NSA spies Israel
Recently the Israeli authorities protested for the revelations about the espionage carried out on Israeli leaders by the National Security Agency (NSA) of the United States. With these statements Israel seeks to pressure the U.S to release an Israeli spy.
After days of silence, the prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu said during a meeting with the United States the request made to the American country to explain the spy reports, while adding that such actions are unacceptable between allies.
Netanyahu met with Jonathan Pollard’s wife, a former intelligence analyst of the U.S. Navy, who spied for Israel in the 1980s and is now serving a life sentence for espionage.
Israel admitted that Pollard was part of the team of intelligence and has pressed for his release for several years.
The charges on the NSA emerged on Monday after a publication of The New York Times, based on the leaked documents of Edward Snowden, a former CIA analyst that defected after being declared a traitor in America. These documents revealed that Netanyahu had been spied in 2009.
