Human traffic gang is disbanded

16 people were arrested during an operation that was carried out by more than 200 members of the police with the support of fifteen prosecutors, which was dismantled a group that allegedly used to facilitate illegal Cuban citizens entry to the country, reported it yesterday the National Police.
Civil servants and employees of notaries, are part of the detainees, since they would have transacted migratory documents “illegally to regularise the stay in the country” of some Cuban citizens, according to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior.
Eight of the 16 detainees are of Cuban nationality, as shown in the Ministry, and added that the action was “a large amount of documentary evidence”, three firearms and approximately $500,000.
The operation called “Black letter” was carried out after three months of intelligence activities, as well as the implementation of various measures of investigation in coordination with the Prosecutor’s Office of the province of Pichincha.
