Japan contributed money through the United Nations World Food Program . How are resources delivered to the migrant population? The contribution “prioritizes care through monthly assistance for vulnerable people who stay in Ecuador, delivery of coupons redeemable for food at border points and support for dining rooms and shelters.”

The chancellor of Ecuador, José Valencia , was part of the firm and promised to coordinate the necessary actions for the delivery of the contributions. The signed diplomatic notes will be executed between December 2019 and March 2020.

In the event, in Quito it was explained that the Regional Interagency Coordination Platform determined that there are about 4.6 million people who have left Venezuela .

Official data also show that during 2018 some 108,000 people of different nationalities “were beneficiaries of food assistance in Esmeraldas, Carchi, Sucumbíos, Imbabura, Pichincha, Santo Domingo, Azuay and Guayas”. So far in 2019, about 290,000 people have accessed the various assistance mechanisms. There are more provinces within the initiative.
