Jorge Escala requests the withdrawal Jorge Glas title

Jorge Escala
MPD Assemblyman, Jorge Escala, asked the Escuela Politecnica del Litoral to withdraw the title of electrical engineer specializing in electro mechanics of Jorge Glas, candidate for vice president of Alianza País. Escala confirmed that their actions lies in the figure of abuse of power, because Glas took over as Chairman of the Solidarity Fund, among others, without that title, hence he asked the Attorney General’s Office, Galo Chiriboga to take the appropriate actions.
Finally Escala, former president of the National Union of Teachers, said that in December of 1997, the University Council of the Central University of Ecuador withdrew the title of doctor of laws to Sandra Correa, former Minister of Education of Abdala Bucaram. Escala said that “Sandra Correa fell short next to Glas.”
Pedro Vargas, director of the thesis of Jorge Glas at the Escuela Politecnica del Litoral, who has been a professor in the ESPOL since 1976 said, “I take responsibility for facilitating practical theoretical material, and simulations to my students and postgraduate students of any form.” He claims that there is plagiarism in the thesis of Jorge Glas.
