jorge-glasVice President Jorge Glas attended yesterday on behalf of the Ecuadorian government the inauguration ceremony of the new President of Panama Juan Carlos Varela.

Varela announced the immediate signing of a decree to control the prices of the main food. In addition, he called for a period of amnesty until 1 August to the more than 200 gangs operating in the country to surrender and give their weapons.

Glas also attended the ceremonial greeting to delegations offered by Lorena Castillo, First Lady of Panama.
