Judge Burbano Began Judicial Process on Case Duzac

Omar Unda and Roberto Sandoval, former members of the COFIEC board were detained last Monday for their relation with the Duzac case, who was supposed to be transferred yesterday to the Provisional Detention Centre.

This order was given by the Judge of Criminal Guarantees of the Pichincha Court, Anacelida Burbano, who gave green light to the beginning of the investigation for the delivery of the $ 800 thousand to the Argentinean Gaston Duzac. However Emiliano Donoso, attorney of Sandoval, assured that in these cases there is the possibility of employing appeal and nullification resources.

The attorney of Sandoval also stated that they have taken “two scapegoats for a judicial massacre,” but he said he was surprised that Antonio Bunay and Gaston Duzac were among the accused, which were the ones that carried out the credit and who took the money outside the country. “Nothing will happen to those who defended the credit and took the money away,” added Donoso.
