Judges of the CNJ will be renewed next week
Along with the inauguration of the seven new national judges, scheduled for next Monday January 26, will come the renovation of the authorities of the National Court of Justice (CNJ for its Spanish acronym), as provided by the Constitution and the Organic Code of Judicial Function (COFJ for its Spanish acronym).
According to these regulations, the presidency of the CNJ, in charge of Carlos Ramirez, shall be renewed by the plenary of the court, on January 28, the day scheduled for the installation of the renewed Court.
In accordance with the regulations, the CNJ shall be composed by 21 judges, who are organized into specialized divisions and shall be appointed for a period of nine years. They shall not be reelected and shall be renewed by thirds every three years.
