Kate Middleton Elected “Queen of Style”
The wife of Prince William of England, Duchess Catherine, was named last night as the “British Queen of Style” during the awards ceremony of the women’s magazine Harper’s Bazaar.
The award recognized Kate’s “charm, style and distinction”. Harper’s Bazaar chose William’s wife as the “best dressed” woman in the country, beating supermodel Kate Moss and actress Liz Hurley.
The British fashion designer who created the wedding dress of the Duchess of Cambridge, Sarah Burton, was honored last night as the “Designer of the Year.”
The news comes at a good time to Kate, who according to British press would be pregnant.
The veteran actress, Judi Dench received the award for her career, while fashion designer and film director Tom Ford won the statuette for “Best Man in the World of Women”, in Harper’s Bazaar awards.
The distinction to the “International Woman of the Year” went to Arianna Huffington, co-founder of Internet news site The Huffington Post.
Jessie J received the revelation award, the artist Tracey Emin was named “Visionary of the Year”, while the eccentric actress Helena Bonham-Carter was named the “Female Model of the Year.”
Other winners during the evening in London were the supermodels Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Eva Herzigova, Yasmin Le Bon and Cindy Crawford, who jointly received the award “Ocon Fashion of the Year”.
