“La TRI”, through the eyes of Reinaldo Rueda

Reinaldo Rueda
Ecuadorian soccer team coach, Reinaldo Rueda admits that the time to rest is little, and, although their official participation for this year ended up, his days with “La TRI” are extremely busy.
Colombian Reinaldo Rueda, has worked with the Ecuadorian TRIcolor team since 2011, getting to know the players and vice versa, creating a link so close, to the point of referring to them as “children”.
Rueda says that the TRI continues to train because they have a long way to go before qualifying to their third World Cup which will be held in Brazil, 2014.
He considers that a player like Walter Ayovi, team captain, is a fundamental piece, he is cheerful, loyal and his team mates are often asking for his advice.
About Antonio Valencia, Rueda highlights his professionalism, discipline, which are a great example for the youth, as well as Luis Fernando Saritama, who he calls his amulet and considered a “role model for the team,” a leader with intelligence and experience.
Reinaldo Rueda is now focusing a lot in the physical and emotional preparation of his players. That’s why he worries that the selected players are constantly injured or self-medicated in order to sleep, as Christian Noboa did .
Among his 10 commandments, Reinaldo says the union is the pillar, also discipline, self-improvement, patience, and above all, the love for his team and the patriotism of his boys.
