Lara, innocent in the Quinsaloma case
The Criminal Chamber of the National Court of Justice found no evidence against Assemblyman Galo Lara (SP), as the mastermind of the triple murder committed in Quinsaloma, Los Rios Province, in 2011, but instead, the accusation fell on his partner, Carolina Llanos, and against Eduardo Martinez, Jose Veliz and Fernando Rodriguez, as perpetrators.
The legislator had been involved in the deaths of Carlos Llanos, his wife Silvia Parco and his 3 year old, for the alleged involvement of his partner and mother of his twins, Carolina Llanos, who was ultimately charged.
Prosecutor, Galo Chiriboga, after hearing the verdict, said it would not appeal the decision of the national judges, while Lara said the verdict showed that he had been wrongly accused, but regretted that the mother of his children did not get the same fate.
