Moreno sent a message of support to the administration of Guaidó and condemned the ” authoritarianism of the regime of (Nicolás) Maduro “.

The Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry also issued a statement, through which the Government rejects the ” abusive use of force ” by Maduro.

“The election of the new Board of Directors of the legislature was sabotaged freely, safely and transparently. The obvious abuses of the procedure and parliamentary immunity invalidate the results of the voting and deprive them of legitimacy, ”says the official note.

He also notes that today’s events “constitute a new attack against democracy in Venezuela and add to recent coercive actions of the regime against about thirty deputies, who disrespected parliamentary immunity and its human rights.”

Guaidó denounced that Venezuela lived this Sunday, January 5, 2020 “the murder of the Republic ” when electing Chavism to a new President of the AN, in a session that prevented him from entering.

“Today, in what is the dismantling of the rule of law and the murder of the Republic, we see how they take the Federal Legislative Palace violently,” Guaidó said after a fight with members of the GNB to access the Parliament, located in the center of Caracas .

The result was described by the Guaidó team as a “blow to Parliament”, since those who elected it did so “without votes or quorum” .
