The closing ceremony was full of artists who captivated the audience, including Annie Lennox, Taio Cruz, Jessie J, Pet Shop Boys and even the Spice Girls lit up the mood of the audience.
Of course there were great tributes to deceased artists like John Lennon and Freddie Mercury.
To commemorate Brazil, next country sponsor of the Olympics, there was a samba number and other music performances played by Brazilian artists, including rapper BNegrao, Seu Jorge and Marisa Monte.
The ceremony ended with a cry of an imitator of Winston Churchill, with the arrival of Prince Henry on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II and the interpretation of the British National Anthem. (MZ)
