London Olympic Orbit tower Opens

A steel tower “Olympic Orbit” located at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford was inaugurated this morning.
The sculpture, whose full name is “Arcelor Mittal Orbit”, was made by artist Anish Kapoor, winner of the prestigious Turner Prize, and Cecil Balmon. It has a height of 114.5 meters (the tallest sculpture throughout the United Kingdom) and it had an approximate cost of 28 million euros.
The sculpture will be open to the public from 28th July, a day after the Olympic Games should commence in 2012.
