Main Assembly Awaits Presidential Veto on Media Bill
Alianza Pais, the political party of the Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa, managed to temporarily suspend the session and approve the media bill. This way the Main Assembly approved one of the 120 points that the article has.
Now the document will be in the hands of Correa were he would exercise its right to veto. This would allow the president to introduce changes in the media bill and afterwards the Assembly can pave them or try.
Meanwhile the opposition wanted that the Communication bill was not approved, but rather it gets filed away, but there weren’t enough votes to deny it. Dalo Bucaram, member of PRE political party state that the session was suspended because Alianza Pais didn’t get all the votes they needed to approve the bill. (AV)
