Mandela’s health is delicate but stable

Posted On 28 Jun 2013

Since yesterday, the health condition of  South Africa’s former president Nelson Mandela, has become more stable, despite continuing delicate. Although his family did not rule out his imminent death, they recognize that between yesterday and today Madiba has shown a slight improvement in his health.

“He is much better today (yesterday) than he was when I saw him last night (Wednesday),” said the head of state, Jacob Zuma, who visited Mandela in the Pretoria hospital, where he is  admitted since June 8.

Makaziwe Mandela, Mandela’s eldest daughter, had also said that Mandela was opening his eyes and “reacted to touch”, but acknowledged that he looks good and anything can happen.

Napilisi Mandela, clan chief of former head of the South African, who visited him in the hospital, said Madiba is under respiratory assistance.
