Unconstitutional order against Communications Law
Posted On 29 Jun 2013
Congressman Luis Fernando Torres (PSC-CREO) presented yesterday the first lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of certain provisions of the Communications Law.
With the statement that it is all about a personal issue, Torres challenged 50 articles on grounds of form and 12 for substantive reasons. He did it before the Constitutional Court.
The prior censorship, towards the duty of covering and spread facts of “public interest”, the media lynching, the powers of the Superintendence of information and the definition of communication as a public service, are the main issues raised for precautionary measures to suspend the effects of the standard.
