Mass funeral in Pelileo for those killed in the traffic accident
Yesterday, several houses of Pelileo, canton of Tunguragua, showed black ribbons in their Windows, as a sign of mourning for the death of 13 of its inhabitants, as a result of the overturning of a bus of the cooperative Pelileo, occurred early on Saturday, via El Triunfo-Bucay.
The deceased were part of the Association of merchants and artisans Earth blue, who dedicated to the manufacture of jeans and traveled to Guayaquil, every week, to market their products.
A temporary burning chapel was installed at the sports coliseum, at first, to mourn the deceased, and more than 3,000 people attended.
The general funeral will be held today, from 15:00, after a mass that will carried out in the stadium of the city, in charge of the parish priest Bernardino Núñez.
Manuel Caizabanda, Mayor of Pelileo, decreed three days of mourning and prompted for the suspension of parties, also announced that the municipality shall bear the cost of the funeral wakes.
So far the identity of the bus driver remains unknown , he should be held responsible for the accident .
The national agency of transit (ANT), detailed in a report, that the Pelileo cooperative bus was transiting with the permissions of operation in order and had complied with all the controls in 2013.
