With the end of the year 2019, there are milestones achieved by the National Government that stand out, both in economic, social, cultural, sports and among others. In macroeconomics, the Government received $ 3.1 billion of multilateral financing this year, with better terms and interest conditions.

In addition, the fiscal deficit was closed thanks to the good management of public finances. This item will be located at 3.2% of GDP, about USD 3.6 billion. “If since 2018 the necessary measures had not been taken, the fiscal deficit would have exceeded $ 8,000 million”, is indicated in an information from the Ministry of Communication.

By November 2019, the tax collection reached $ 13,235 million, public procurement processes have also been improved, saving $ 400 million. With regard to Public Banking, one of the milestones reached is that $ 5,458 million in loans were given to all the country, from public banks (Banecuador, BIESS, Development Bank of Ecuador, National Financial Corporation and Conafips).

Regarding foreign trade, exports of non-oil products reached $ 10,031.7 million, with a volume of 8.1 million tons. Another objective was to open markets with various products to the United States, Bulgaria, India, Guatemala, Peru, Singapore, Cuba, Japan, Chile, China, Brazil, United Kingdom, Colombia, Sweden, Denmark, among others.

There were also 38 investment contracts for an amount of $ 801.5 million and that have allowed the generation of more than 4,000 jobs. Going deeper into the work area, 2019 closes with 13,315 teleworkers. Another milestone is that 46,000 citizens have been linked to employment through the Social Employment Network. In addition, 2,669 young people are beneficiaries of My First Job, through internships and pre-professional practices. 5,250 young people have been hired through the Young Employment Project.

Showing Ecuador as a tourism power worldwide has been another objective of the Government. During the year, 1.5 million foreigners were received in our country (not including Venezuelans) from major destinations such as the US, Peru and Colombia. The cantons of Patate, Alausí, Zaruma, Cotacachi and San Gabriel received the declaration of Magical Towns, a project that promotes the tourist development of populations with unique cultural and natural attributes and attractions.

For its part, in support of the agricultural sector, 76,516 agricultural kits were delivered in 101 cantons nationwide. In this year, four mega agricultural fairs were developed in Ibarra, Quito, Latacunga and Guayaquil. Through the Ministry of Agriculture, 3,100 agricultural producers were able to sell their products directly to final consumers, reducing the chain of intermediaries.

Likewise, 133 permanent fairs are held nationwide, where agricultural products are offered directly benefiting 6,577 producers. The culture also has its important space in the national agenda, so for the fourth time the Live Arts Festival of Loja was held, which meant a platform for circulation and artistic creation of the country for the guarantee of cultural rights, promotion of artistic manifestations, access to cultural goods and services.

Among the milestones in sports, a project is carried out that develops High Performance athletes through high-level technical support. The beneficiaries are 347 conventional and disabled athletes nationwide. The investment is $ 12,000,000.
