MegaUplaod Creator Requests Bail
Kim Dotcom, the creator of the download site MegaUpload, which was closed last week by the FBI, presented himself into the New Zealand court this Monday to request his bail. Meanwhile the Department of Justice of USA is looking for his extradition.
The closure of MegaUpload occurred because of the accusations against seven persons who were charged of operating a racketeering enterprise responsible of international global online piracy of material under copyright laws.
Attorneys of Dotcom negate any criminal behavior and deny the idea that a mega–conspiracy exists. The United States prosecutors informed that the request for bail should be denied since there is a risk that Dotcom abandons the country. US authorities added that MegaUpload generated more than 175 million of dollars through illegal profits through advertising and selling premium memberships. (AV)
