Miners found 29.6 Carat blue diamond
Posted On 22 Jan 2014
Last week was discovered a Blue Diamond of 29.6 carats in the mine of Cullinan near Pretoria. Its value reaches the million dollars.
“The stone is a remarkable intense blue, with extraordinary saturation, tone, and clarity, and has the potential to produce a polished stone of great value,” said Petra Diamonds firm that operates the South African mine since 2008.
Despite not giving an exact price of this precious stone, it recalled that the blue diamonds are the most coveted. Cathy Malins Group reminded the media that in April 2013, a 25.5-Carat Blue Diamond had been sold for $ 16.9 million.
