More than 100 Ecuadorians live in Athens, according to the consulate

Athens is estimated that between 100 and 120 Ecuadorians live in Athens, a small community that has been inserted into the Greek families and that mostly belong to the middle class.
Until two years ago there was a large group of Ecuadorians working informally, but due to the crisis they left the country.
Economically, the trade balance is positive for Ecuador because the main export is banana, while Greece exports machinery, which does not represent large resources.
Even before the crisis Greece was considered a developed country with high living standards. Its economy is composed by the service sector (85%), industry (12%) and the primary sector (3%).
