Moreno wishes “his best” to Bolsonaro

The president of Ecuador, Lenin Moreno, congratulated the Brazilian people for the “democratic feat” in today’s elections and wished the president-elect of that country, Jair Bolsonaro, “the best auguries”.

“More congratulations to the Brazilian people for this new democratic feat. The best wishes for their new president, Jair Bolsonaro, “Moreno wrote in his official Twitter account.

The Ecuadorian president expressed his confidence in being able to “strengthen the traditional bonds of friendship and work between the two nations” with his Brazilian counterpart.

With 99.4% of the census counted, Bolsonaro won the second round of the elections with 55.21% of the votes, against the 44.79% obtained by Haddad, successor of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in the electoral battle. (I)
